On June 24, 1953, in Duncan, Mississippi, Mary Alice Lane and
Leon Moody was blessed with a beautiful daughter whom they
named Catherine Moody (Cat). She was the sixth of thirteen
Catherine and family relocated to Homestead, Florida in 1967
where she continued her education in the local public schools.
When her mom passed, she took on the role as care giver to her
younger siblings. She later went back to school and obtained her
G.E.D. and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Catherine met the love of her life Robert Lee Brock, and they were
united in holy matrimony and raised a family of seven beautiful
Catherine worked hard in the fields and was known as the G.O.A.T.
of sticking beans because no one could out stick her. From 1987
until her health failed, she worked as a CNA.
In 1979, Catherine said “YES” to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. She
joined True Way Holiness Church (Bishop EJ. Grant). She later
joined the Holy Ghost Power House Church under the leadership
of Bishop Austin Lawrence & Assistant Pastor Lorraine Lawrence
in 1994. She raised her children in the nurture and admonition of
Catherine enjoyed Praising her God, witnessing for Jesus, singing,
and writing songs. She also enjoyed being in the presence of her
children and grandchildren, laughing, joking, and having a great
time. Catherine loved helping people. She would help anyone in
We were blessed to have our beloved Catherine Brock Jordan for
69 years on this earth. She has left a loving, lasting impression on
all that came in contact with her. Even though our hearts are broken,
we are reminded that “to be absent from the body is to be present
with the Lord”.
Catherine was preceded in death by her son Frederick Moody.
She leaves to mourn, her children, Tascha Jordan, Rosalynd
Holcomb (Jerry), Christopher Brock (Tawanna), Cathy Hall
(Johnathan), Nehemiah Brock (Alayzjah), Cassandra Rolle
(Walford); 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; Siblings:
Charles Moody, Dorothy Wiley (Robert), Audrey Rogers (Joe)
Mary Hudson, Geneva Hughes (David), Queen Green (Nathaniel),
Ruth Mae Moody, Jaqueline Moody, Linda Moody, Joyce Moody.
Catherine also leaves to mourn a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins, and other relatives too numerous to name.
